Where the Spirit Is

“SEEK MY FACE, and you will find not only My Presence but also My Peace. To receive My Peace, you must change your grasping, controlling stance to one of openness and trust. The only thing you can grasp without damaging your soul is My hand. Ask My Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, for the mind controlled by the Spirit is Life and Peace.

You can have as much of Me and My Peace as you want through thousands of correct choices each day. The most persistent choice you face is whether to trust Me or to worry. You will never run out of things to worry about, but you can choose to trust Me no matter what. I am an ever-present help in trouble. Trust Me, though the earth give way and the mountains full into the heart of the sea.” Romans 8:6 Psalm 46:1-2 taken from Jesus is Calling

Over the past two to three weeks, I have experienced significant stress, particularly due to the extensive media coverage and private conversations regarding President Trump’s actions. Usually, once our new president is sworn in, I go about my life and let things unfold as they may. However, the private conversations about his actions and their potential impact on Black America have been exhausting. Those discussions have greatly affected me because many in the Black community have turned away from God. Instead of seeking divine guidance, they look for the loudest and most self-serving voices to represent us when we, as a community, should first seek God’s presence and then address the issues at hand.  Sigh.  Let’s pray!

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. I ask for Your spirit to surround the United States and its people. I implore that peace be granted to all, regardless of our leadership. I pray that when our President makes decisions, his actions reflect Your will. Amen.

Day Twenty Six – Removing Clutter

October 22, 2023

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

As I continue on this journey of decluttering my home, I find myself with little to no support. And in turn without thought I’d made those that read my post the someone’s whom I was accountable to. For only God knew how the years of being involved in stressful situations depleted me of a natural resource of being a self-starter. So, therefore, to accomplish tasks that I would never need help doing, I’ve unconsciously made people of the Universe forces that hold me liable for removing the clutter from my home. This revelation explains why I try to write about my actions daily. Let’s pray!

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, I call on you this morning.  Life happens, bad days are a given and depression is always lurking and looking for victims, but you are ever present!  You sit patiently and quietly waiting for God’s children to seek your help in matters that go beyond their ability to solve.  Today, Holy Spirit, I ask for your infinite wisdom to give aid to those that don’t know how to seek your help when it appears they are totally alone. Amen

Day Ten – Removing Clutter

September 25, 2023

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

PRAYER

Holy Spirit, comfort the minds that are weary and burdened so they can find rest in Christ. Amen

Finding Your Way – Fruits of Suffering

“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”

Romans 5:3-5 (NIV)

Happy throwback Thursday! Ten years ago, on July 26, 2013, I posted an inspirational story about the struggles of a butterfly. It was befitting for this however long series titled “Finding Your Way.”

I’ve often seen people fall completely apart when facing trials and tribulations. The emotional stresses tied to struggles sometimes paralyze folks to a point they can’t see the forest for the trees; thus, rendering them helpless. And as a result nothing gets done to the best of their ability. As to why finding your way through difficult situations is so very very important to living an abundant life.

“A man found a cocoon of a butterfly.  One day a small opening appeared.  He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to squeeze its body through the tiny hole.  Then it stopped, as if it couldn’t go further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly.  He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bits of cocoon.  The butterfly emerged easily but it had a swollen body and shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch it, expecting that any minute the wings would enlarge and expand enough to support the body.  Neither happened!  In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around.  It was never able to fly.

What the man in his kindness  and haste did not understand:  The restricting cocoon and the struggle required by the butterfly to get through the opening was a way of forcing the fluid from the body into the wings so that it would be ready for flight once that was achieved.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives.  Going through life with no obstacles would cripple us.  We will not be as strong as we could have been and we would never fly.” ~~Author Unknown

The Prayers of Black Women: Low Self-Esteem Prayer

Lord for the past couple of weeks I have notice people searching for prayers on low self-esteem.  So today Lord I bring those that suffer from lack of confidence to you.  Lord I am asking you to help them overcome whatever stole their self-assurance.  Lord I’m asking you to gently speak in their ear that if they had been the only person in the world, you would have come from Heaven and saved them alone.  Lord, I’m praying today that they understand they are special and you love them much more than any mortal man.  I’m asking Lord that you wrap your loving spiritual arms around them.  Allow their wounded souls to nestle in your spiritual being and take comfort in your ability to heal.  I’m asking Lord that you give them hope by affirming them as only you can.  I’m asking Lord that you give them a spirit to forgive the person or persons that have hurt them as they move on with life.

Lord please help them to understand you want us to have good thoughts, and that includes how we feel about ourselves.  For Psalm 19:14 states:

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

And Lord thank you for loving me.

Your daughter,
Annette

The Prayers of Black Women: A Kiss from Heaven

4213264-261659-vector-illustration-of-a-breast-cancer-pink-ribbon-treeYesterday a friend posted on Facebook she had to cut her long beautiful hair.  Apparently this has been a year that has tried her soul.  Medically she has opted for chemo and feels she is hanging onto life as she knows it.

Within her personal message she wrote she didn’t want us to feel sorry for her; but it is hard to be joyful when your friend is fighting to live.  It is even harder to be joyful when the illnesses of others make you question your own mortality.  So today I wrote a prayer for her and it is called “A Kiss from Heaven.”

A Kiss from Heaven

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
I wanted you to know that God will see you through.
He knew you would lose your hair,
But a kiss from Heaven will show His care.

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
I asked for God to kiss you at half-passed two.
God said He has already kissed you
And I know His kiss will heal you too.

A kiss from Heaven is what I ask for God to do,
So you will see His love shining through.
I asked that He give your skin a glow
So you will know He still runs the show.

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
When I felt you might become a tad thin too.
I want God to let you know you are going to win,
Because He gives you courage from within.

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
So when you feel down with sorrow
I want God to let you know He holds your tomorrows.
A kiss from Heaven is what I’m praying for you.
