Inspirational Fridays: Liang Yaoyi and The Courage to Face Death

No Life Should be Lived in Vain

Liang YaoyiAs I ponder for meaning to the end of a young life I searched for meaning to my existence.  The world has lost a key-player.  His name is Liang Yaoyi.  He was only 11 years old when he died a heroic death of a man.  He lost his life fearlessly to brain cancer.  Which means he did not leave the earth as a beaten spectator.  He was in the game of life!  And he was indeed a key-player that world will miss because . . .

Had he lived he would have became a doctor with purpose.  He would have been a trail blazer to the world of medical science.  He would have set the world on fire with new medical ideas.  His ideas would have taken medicine to greater heights as his love for life became contagious.

His unselfish dying decree surrender him as a leader that understood he had came to the end of his journey.  And what is so amazing about his death is:  Liang Yaoyi passed the torch of life by donating his liver and kidneys as he bravely recognized he own life was ending.

And I do hope you realize I am writing about the bravery of an 11 year old boy.  Fate gave him choices that have spiritually flatten adults; but, he fought to the end of his life with a gallant spirit of a victorious man.  RIP Liang Yaoyi for your young life was not lived in vain.  [tears]

The Prayer’s of Black Women: Restoring the Heart of America

Well, Lord, I have finally gotten up from the couch.  Mostly because your spirit has urged me to write a pray.

But, Lord, I feel torn about what I should pray.  There are so many life situations that need your help.  So, again, I feel torn about what I should pray about.  However the situation that seems to be heaviest on my heart is the spiritual and cancerous choice of Americans.

The choice to remove you from our country is drowning this wonderful nation in the pool of political correctness; thus, giving birth to spiritual chaos.

We have taken you out of everything!  We have taken you out of our governmental institutions, our business, our schools, our churches, our homes, our children, our families and our daily actions.  And because we have taken you out of everything we are now experiencing the following:  high unemployment, high divorce rates, high rate of children born out-of-wedlock, high rates of child exploitation’s, extreme amounts of mental illness, and people having disregards for life.

Sadly, Lord, as we the American people bicker over small things such as who should or should not get married.  Or should the NRA step in and help make stiffer laws for obtaining firearms!  Or if a black man is making good or bad choices up on Capitol Hill!  Lord, the country that I love is quickly falling into a perilous state.

Lord the catalyst for what is happening in America is our ease in removing you from our lives!  It’s not the black man up on Capitol Hill!  He’s just one man!  It’s not Joe marrying Johnny or Susan marring Sally!  And it’s certainly not mandating tougher gun laws!  It was removing you!

Lord, the American people need to hear from you!  We need to hear from the God that got this American party started.  We’re a young nation.  And we’re making our fair share of mistakes.  But, Lord, the biggest mistake we have made thus far was removing you!

I’m praying for my country.  I’m asking you for your mercy upon me and my country.  I’m asking you God to show us how to repair our relationship with you.  I’m asking you to forgive the arrogance of the American people.  I’m praying that you will do a historical roll call in their minds and in their hearts.  I’m asking Lord that they remember the blood that was shade for our freedoms; and how you fought along the men that were fighting for all to be freed men and women.  I’m asking you to remind them that our ancestors came here to freely worship you.  I’m asking you to remind them this country was born from a divine dream and supported and encouraged by spiritual God.

For George Santayana once wrote, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”  And in Numbers 14:26-38 people perished and wondered in the wilderness because they had lost faith in you and your abilities to create a new land for a people of promise.  Lord, help the country that I love.  Heal the heart of this country because America is a land of promise and we are a people of promise.

Your Loving Daughter,
Annette

Heads Up: For You Garage Sale Goer’s

I do not knock the choices of others’ when it comes to legally obtaining items of want.  However, I have never been a person for second-hand products from garage sales or thrift stores (unless the item of interest is for investment purposes).  But I do have family, friends, and loved ones that frequent shops like:  Goodwill and the Ark; and sometimes a few of them will go dumpster-diving or even to auctions.   But for me, I decided as long ago as a child that I would never shop second-hand stores, garage sales, and such for personal items once I became an adult.  Yet I must confess I have taken, when I was a young single mother, personal items from people I knew.

Well, any-who, I stumbled across an article about the do’s and don’ts of purchasing garage sale items.  I found the information interesting; therefore, I am sharing it with those of you that enjoy going to garage sales and such.  The article talks about “21 Things You Should Never Buy at Garage Sales.”  As stated earlier, “I do not knock the choices of other’s when it comes to legally obtaining items of want.”  But I want to make sure those of you that enjoy purchasing items for a fraction of the cost stay safe, health wise and environment wise.  Because flesh-eating diseases and bug and rodent infestation are no joke!

The Prayers of Black Women: Can You Please Help My Friend

4213264-261659-vector-illustration-of-a-breast-cancer-pink-ribbon-treeLord, I went to sleep way too early yesterday evening.  And when I woke I was at a lost.  I wasn’t sure what to do with my time.  So I began to search for a young man who was on my heart.  When I could not find him I decided to read post on my Facebook account.  And then Lord I came across the below post of a friend that is fighting cancer:

Sometimes I wish I could just close my eyes & disappear….

Lord, I responded with:  “If you could do that then I would miss you; and the world would be minus a remarkable woman. Sending you a hug from the beautiful state of Colorado.”

Lord, I don’t know the ramifications of her health challenge but you do.  I don’t know how strong her emotional and mental support system is, but you do.  And, Lord, I don’t know how supportive her medical team is, but you do.  But I do know Lord, her illness and concerns are bigger than she and I can handle, therefore, I am bringing them to you.

Please Lord, give her your courage.  I’m asking that peace be still in her life.  I’m praying that joy won’t wait to visit but that it will stop by today and continue to visit everyday.  I’m asking Lord that you give her body the strength to fight for wellness.  I’m praying Lord that you will put a joyful song in her heart; and give her unmovable faith in your abilities.  I’m praying for her medical team.  I’m asking Lord that she has the best doctor’s in her state, city, or town giving her medical attention.  I’m asking Lord that she has favor with each medical staff that comes across her path.  I’m asking for emotional blessings for her family, friends, and loved ones.  I’m asking Lord that you please hold her hand and let her know you are walking with her on this journey.  And most of all I’m asking that she no longer wants to close her eyes and disappear.

Love,
Annette

P.S.

Lord, I sharing one of my favorite songs with those that need to hear something spiritually uplifting.

The Prayers of Black Women: A Kiss from Heaven

4213264-261659-vector-illustration-of-a-breast-cancer-pink-ribbon-treeYesterday a friend posted on Facebook she had to cut her long beautiful hair.  Apparently this has been a year that has tried her soul.  Medically she has opted for chemo and feels she is hanging onto life as she knows it.

Within her personal message she wrote she didn’t want us to feel sorry for her; but it is hard to be joyful when your friend is fighting to live.  It is even harder to be joyful when the illnesses of others make you question your own mortality.  So today I wrote a prayer for her and it is called “A Kiss from Heaven.”

A Kiss from Heaven

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
I wanted you to know that God will see you through.
He knew you would lose your hair,
But a kiss from Heaven will show His care.

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
I asked for God to kiss you at half-passed two.
God said He has already kissed you
And I know His kiss will heal you too.

A kiss from Heaven is what I ask for God to do,
So you will see His love shining through.
I asked that He give your skin a glow
So you will know He still runs the show.

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
When I felt you might become a tad thin too.
I want God to let you know you are going to win,
Because He gives you courage from within.

A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
So when you feel down with sorrow
I want God to let you know He holds your tomorrows.
A kiss from Heaven is what I’m praying for you.
