As I ponder for meaning to the end of a young life I searched for meaning to my existence. The world has lost a key-player. His name is Liang Yaoyi. He was only 11 years old when he died a heroic death of a man. He lost his life fearlessly to brain cancer. Which means he did not leave the earth as a beaten spectator. He was in the game of life! And he was indeed a key-player that world will miss because . . .
Had he lived he would have became a doctor with purpose. He would have been a trail blazer to the world of medical science. He would have set the world on fire with new medical ideas. His ideas would have taken medicine to greater heights as his love for life became contagious.
His unselfish dying decree surrender him as a leader that understood he had came to the end of his journey. And what is so amazing about his death is: Liang Yaoyi passed the torch of life by donating his liver and kidneys as he bravely recognized he own life was ending.
And I do hope you realize I am writing about the bravery of an 11 year old boy. Fate gave him choices that have spiritually flatten adults; but, he fought to the end of his life with a gallant spirit of a victorious man. RIP Liang Yaoyi for your young life was not lived in vain. [tears]
Well, Lord, I have finally gotten up from the couch. Mostly because your spirit has urged me to write a pray.
But, Lord, I feel torn about what I should pray. There are so many life situations that need your help. So, again, I feel torn about what I should pray about. However the situation that seems to be heaviest on my heart is the spiritual and cancerous choice of Americans.
The choice to remove you from our country is drowning this wonderful nation in the pool of political correctness; thus, giving birth to spiritual chaos.
We have taken you out of everything! We have taken you out of our governmental institutions, our business, our schools, our churches, our homes, our children, our families and our daily actions. And because we have taken you out of everything we are now experiencing the following: high unemployment, high divorce rates, high rate of children born out-of-wedlock, high rates of child exploitation’s, extreme amounts of mental illness, and people having disregards for life.
Sadly, Lord, as we the American people bicker over small things such as who should or should not get married. Or should the NRA step in and help make stiffer laws for obtaining firearms! Or if a black man is making good or bad choices up on Capitol Hill! Lord, the country that I love is quickly falling into a perilous state.
Lord the catalyst for what is happening in America is our ease in removing you from our lives! It’s not the black man up on Capitol Hill! He’s just one man! It’s not Joe marrying Johnny or Susan marring Sally! And it’s certainly not mandating tougher gun laws! It was removing you!
Lord, the American people need to hear from you! We need to hear from the God that got this American party started. We’re a young nation. And we’re making our fair share of mistakes. But, Lord, the biggest mistake we have made thus far was removing you!
I’m praying for my country. I’m asking you for your mercy upon me and my country. I’m asking you God to show us how to repair our relationship with you. I’m asking you to forgive the arrogance of the American people. I’m praying that you will do a historical roll call in their minds and in their hearts. I’m asking Lord that they remember the blood that was shade for our freedoms; and how you fought along the men that were fighting for all to be freed men and women. I’m asking you to remind them that our ancestors came here to freely worship you. I’m asking you to remind them this country was born from a divine dream and supported and encouraged by spiritual God.
For George Santayana once wrote, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” And in Numbers 14:26-38 people perished and wondered in the wilderness because they had lost faith in you and your abilities to create a new land for a people of promise. Lord, help the country that I love. Heal the heart of this country because America is a land of promise and we are a people of promise.
Please do not ask me why but I belong to a group where white men and black women search for interracial love. And, yes, I am married, so please don’t add more to my belonging to this group other than: I joined for nostalgic reasons. My husband knows I am associated with the group and he is okay with me being a member. But my blog post today is not about why I joined such a group. Actually the subject is more in line with “A Lady Never Kisses and Tells.”
A couple of weeks ago I noticed the group heating up with activity. So one day I zipped cyberly into the room where I quietly watched the dialogues between the sexes.
After a young woman had blown the cover of a married man he started calling all the women in the group “hoes.” And the unconventional responses from the young women failed to put the disrespectful young man in his proper place; therefore, he became more abusive because he knew he was saying things that upset the women. Sadly the administrator(s) of the group supported this young man’s abrasive behavior. Especially since he/she/they did not temporarily or permanently remove him from the community. So, me, as an old schooler sitting and watching the conversation unfold witness rejection at its worse and low self-esteem at its peak. But what bugged me most was the following question asked by another man within the group:
Lets talk about blowjobs. What are your thoughts, feelings, opinions and knowledge on the subject?
When I told my husband I had a problem with the question my husband said, “You got a problem with that question? With all the other [implicated deleted] going on and you got a problem with that question?” Regrettably, I must confess my husband in private spoke like a true man! Ugh!
Oh! But my hubby didn’t stop with the above [not so funny] statements he then continued his humor by saying, “He was running a primary election trying to find the right candidate. He was being Democratic.”
It’s obvious my husband finds the question humorous while I’m totally offended by it. For the record, I am not a prude but, I am a person that believes ‘A Lady Never Kisses and Tells.’ And I felt any woman who responded to the question would be foolish! Because the question was posed to scout-out desperate naïve women that would be willing to do anything of a sexual nature for a chance at love.
However, there is one thing my husband and I both agree on, and that is “the guy was trying to fill a job position.” And every women that answered his question was possibly considered for the job.
Word to the young:
If an acquaintance is willing to discuss sexual preference before they cultivate a meaningful and lasting relationship with you, then they are looking to satisfy their sexual appetite and any person will do! Don’t you be that any person unless you are looking to be a one-night stand! And even when a woman has a one night-stand she holds true to ‘A Lady Never Kisses and Tells’!
With Thanksgiving quickly approaching I am at a lost for a dinner menu.
Honestly, I am so over turkey and dressing, collard greens, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes covered in turkey gravy, corn, candy yams and sweet potato-pie with a dollop of cool-whip. But if I met one person that has never feasted on such a lavish Thanksgiving meal I would find the strength to prepare it and cultivate an appetite to eat it once again.
Yesterday my cousin Theresa told me I was not the person she once knew. She said, “You’ve changed.” She went on to express how she remembered my tearful outbursts and moments later how I would be extremely happy, or short-tempered. Honestly, I had forgotten those moments and the young woman that felt life was not worth living. And I find it spiritually amazing how God will allow others to remind you of days gone by. And how the kindness of others helped transformed your life during difficult moments. As a result of my transformation I am grateful for all things.
So today I am taking the time to search for and post inspiring messages to help someone along the way. If the message I share is not for you please pass it on. You never know who will need words of encouragement. So to kick off my inspirational Friday messages is the below video of a businessman’s compassion for humanity.
I do not knock the choices of others’ when it comes to legally obtaining items of want. However, I have never been a person for second-hand products from garage sales or thrift stores (unless the item of interest is for investment purposes). But I do have family, friends, and loved ones that frequent shops like: Goodwill and the Ark; and sometimes a few of them will go dumpster-diving or even to auctions. But for me, I decided as long ago as a child that I would never shop second-hand stores, garage sales, and such for personal items once I became an adult. Yet I must confess I have taken, when I was a young single mother, personal items from people I knew.
Well, any-who, I stumbled across an article about the do’s and don’ts of purchasing garage sale items. I found the information interesting; therefore, I am sharing it with those of you that enjoy going to garage sales and such. The article talks about “21 Things You Should Never Buy at Garage Sales.” As stated earlier, “I do not knock the choices of other’s when it comes to legally obtaining items of want.” But I want to make sure those of you that enjoy purchasing items for a fraction of the cost stay safe, health wise and environment wise. Because flesh-eating diseases and bug and rodent infestation are no joke!
Lord, I went to sleep way too early yesterday evening. And when I woke I was at a lost. I wasn’t sure what to do with my time. So I began to search for a young man who was on my heart. When I could not find him I decided to read post on my Facebook account. And then Lord I came across the below post of a friend that is fighting cancer:
Sometimes I wish I could just close my eyes & disappear….
Lord, I responded with: “If you could do that then I would miss you; and the world would be minus a remarkable woman. Sending you a hug from the beautiful state of Colorado.”
Lord, I don’t know the ramifications of her health challenge but you do. I don’t know how strong her emotional and mental support system is, but you do. And, Lord, I don’t know how supportive her medical team is, but you do. But I do know Lord, her illness and concerns are bigger than she and I can handle, therefore, I am bringing them to you.
Please Lord, give her your courage. I’m asking that peace be still in her life. I’m praying that joy won’t wait to visit but that it will stop by today and continue to visit everyday. I’m asking Lord that you give her body the strength to fight for wellness. I’m praying Lord that you will put a joyful song in her heart; and give her unmovable faith in your abilities. I’m praying for her medical team. I’m asking Lord that she has the best doctor’s in her state, city, or town giving her medical attention. I’m asking Lord that she has favor with each medical staff that comes across her path. I’m asking for emotional blessings for her family, friends, and loved ones. I’m asking Lord that you please hold her hand and let her know you are walking with her on this journey. And most of all I’m asking that she no longer wants to close her eyes and disappear.
Lord, I sharing one of my favorite songs with those that need to hear something spiritually uplifting.
Lord there are so many social issues to pray for that I’m not sure which one I should bring to your feet this morning. There is the issue of HIV among the porn stars. There is the issue of homosexual’s committing suicide because of personal fears. There are the social issues of gun control in America. Lord as you can see from my small prayer list, that could easily grow, there is a need for you.
Lord as you know I started this prayer last week after coming home from church. Pastor Robert Gelinas spoke on Your mercy. He mainly spoke from the book of Jonas. He talked about how people want your mercy but often hate when you extend the same mercy to those deem unworthy. With great surprise the end of his sermon took a tailspin. He held up a rock and said it represented people who had not forgiven themselves.
Lord as you saw I sat listening in bewilderment. It was then I realized I was Jonas. I had not forgiven myself for becoming a teen-mom. I had not forgiven myself for countless other things I had done with the life you gladly gave me. Lord so long ago, I realized I had wasted and was wasting my life. I’m sorry! Please forgive me for wasting the life you created before you formed it in the belly of my precious mom’s womb. Please stop me from living a life of regret. Please help me to live in the footsteps you ordered for me. Please help me to be a gift given back to the greatest gift giver. Lord, let me be a wonderful gift for you!
Lord this morning someone woke up unsure about life. Lord, I pray that you give this person a dream or a new dream with new hope. Lord, I pray that you help them to learn to put one foot in front of the other. Lord, I pray that you help them to understand “a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Lord, I pray that they realize the cliché I just used apply to all aspects of life. But more so Lord, I pray they understand “Great is Thy faithfulness.”
Lord help those that have contracted HIV. Give them your peace that surpasses all human understanding. Lord help those that have confesses in their hearts that they are homosexual. Lord help those that own guns and those that don’t own guns to come to mutual agreements. But most of all Lord help the world to know ‘Great is Thy faithfulness.”
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
“Great is Thy faithfulness!” “Great is Thy faithfulness!“
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided—
“Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Yesterday a friend posted on Facebook she had to cut her long beautiful hair. Apparently this has been a year that has tried her soul. Medically she has opted for chemo and feels she is hanging onto life as she knows it.
Within her personal message she wrote she didn’t want us to feel sorry for her; but it is hard to be joyful when your friend is fighting to live. It is even harder to be joyful when the illnesses of others make you question your own mortality. So today I wrote a prayer for her and it is called “A Kiss from Heaven.”
A Kiss from Heaven
A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
I wanted you to know that God will see you through.
He knew you would lose your hair,
But a kiss from Heaven will show His care.
A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
I asked for God to kiss you at half-passed two.
God said He has already kissed you
And I know His kiss will heal you too.
A kiss from Heaven is what I ask for God to do,
So you will see His love shining through.
I asked that He give your skin a glow
So you will know He still runs the show.
A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
When I felt you might become a tad thin too.
I want God to let you know you are going to win,
Because He gives you courage from within.
A kiss from Heaven is what I prayed for you.
So when you feel down with sorrow
I want God to let you know He holds your tomorrows.
A kiss from Heaven is what I’m praying for you.
