Day Forty Two – Removing Clutter

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,”

Ephesians 3:20

Yesterday, I did something unexpected and amazing! I took down the once white faux plantation blinds in the kitchen window. Sadly they had turned several shades of brown, ranging from near white to a dark dirty scary splotchy browns.  And adding to their unsightly appearance was the heavy gray dust that probably was hosting a party for germs of all sorts. Honestly, I’d seen the condition of the blinds a month or so ago from the outside and made a mental note to clean them. Yet, cleaning those blinds didn’t seem as important to me as nursing my depression, disappointments, anger, and etc. But, yesterday, as I stood at the kitchen window listening to Priscilla Shirer, I felt the spirit of the living God move within me.  It was clear it didn’t matter what choir I did as long as I did something to show I was still in the game of life.  So, I got the small ladder we use to climb in bed.  Took it to the sink cabinet.  Climb up.  Unlatched the brackets holding up the blinds.  Took the blinds down.  I filled one side of the sink with one third of water and added a large amount of Clorox to a few drops of Dawn.  The process of washing the blinds was not easy because my mind is filled with everything.  Yet, I managed to clean the blinds and was blessed with a feeling of accomplishment at the end.  A feeling I’ve been longing to experience but couldn’t because of my mindset of feeling overwhelmed.  Let’s pray!

PRAYER:

Father God, most times we are blind to the meaning of our emotions.  Please remove the scales off our spiritual eyes that prohibit us from seeing spiritually and let us see why we do what we do.  Afterwards, give us your peace, your understanding and your strength to make necessary changes that will help us grow in you.  Amen

February 25

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Psalm 139:14

Prayer:

Father God, creator of the Universe, let us praise you for the life we live. Let your works give wings to our dreams and make them reality. Bless us with your favor as we celebrate daily with thanksgiving for being fearfully and wonderfully made. Amen

February 21

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Prayer

Father God in a world that demands much, spiritual renewal is needed daily. Sadly, the process of regenerating one’s mind is grossly overlooked because of the demands of life. As a result, many that love you are unable to take hold of your promise; therefore, today’s request is asking for you to fill your empty vessels with peace that will allow the renewing of the spirit. Amen

The Prayers of Black Women

Today, Friday, February 18, 2022, prayer will start with the definition of seek/seeking. According to Merriam-Webster seek is a transitive verb and intransitive verb. And, the nuts and bolts to its meaning is to search of.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

Prayer:

Father God, in a vanity filled world it’s become next to impossible to have meaningful relationships. Everything that makes for shallow thinking has no place for the God of the Universe. Everyone in their search for validation are becoming mini gods to themselves and the world around them. Yet, your simple words in Jeremiah 29:13 are deeper than the hidden gems of the ocean. Let your words become our center and our quest for being spiritually grounded in knowing God with many parts to His body is bigger than the life we live. Amen

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.                                                       ~Booker T Washington

Quote for Today: You Can Say Sorry

You can say sorry a million times, Say “I love you” as much as you want, say whatever you want, whenever you want.  But if you’re not going to prove that the things you say are true, then don’t say anything at all.  Because if you can’t show it, your words…don’t mean a thing.

Love comes when manipulation stops; when you think more about the other person than about his or her reactions to you.  When you dare to reveal yourself fully.  When you dare to be vulnerable.

Paying It Fowards: Unexpected Gifts and Gratitude

I was born to give gifts.

I don’t have to know a person to give them a gift.  All that needs to happen is a meeting by chance.  A person can be wealthy, middle-class, or in the soup-line and the deed of giving a gift will still be the same for me; because the gift that is given is for the soul.

Sadly, some people don’t realize that gifts are for the soul.  And because of their spiritual blindness they are ungrateful when unexpected gifts are given to them.

Remember:  Gratitude feeds the soul.
