The Prayers of Black Women

Today, Friday, February 18, 2022, prayer will start with the definition of seek/seeking. According to Merriam-Webster seek is a transitive verb and intransitive verb. And, the nuts and bolts to its meaning is to search of.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

Prayer:

Father God, in a vanity filled world it’s become next to impossible to have meaningful relationships. Everything that makes for shallow thinking has no place for the God of the Universe. Everyone in their search for validation are becoming mini gods to themselves and the world around them. Yet, your simple words in Jeremiah 29:13 are deeper than the hidden gems of the ocean. Let your words become our center and our quest for being spiritually grounded in knowing God with many parts to His body is bigger than the life we live. Amen

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching I am at a lost for a dinner menu.

Honestly, I am so over turkey and dressing, collard greens, black-eyed peas, mashed potatoes covered in turkey gravy, corn, candy yams and sweet potato-pie with a dollop of cool-whip.  But if I met one person that has never feasted on such a lavish Thanksgiving meal I would find the strength to prepare it and cultivate an appetite to eat it once again.

Yesterday my cousin Theresa told me I was not the person she once knew.  She said, “You’ve changed.”  She went on to express how she remembered my tearful outbursts and moments later how I would be extremely happy, or short-tempered.  Honestly, I had forgotten those moments and the young woman that felt life was not worth living.  And I find it spiritually amazing how God will allow others to remind you of days gone by.  And how the kindness of others helped transformed your life during difficult moments.  As a result of my transformation I am grateful for all things.

So today I am taking the time to search for and post inspiring messages to help someone along the way.  If the message I share is not for you please pass it on.  You never know who will need words of encouragement.  So to kick off my inspirational Friday messages is the below video of a businessman’s compassion for humanity.

Happy Friday!

Inspirational Fridays: Listen up! Trent Has Something Wonderful to Say!

Yesterday, for the second time, my friend told me that her ex-husband expressed to her that she could never date and or marry a rich man.  He told her rich men only date and marry women that look like Barbie.  Hum . . . Really!  Whatever!

I told her most rich men are no different from men that are not rich when looking for love.  I assured her only shallow men (rich or otherwise) look at the outer parts of women instead of the beauty they have within.

I gave her words of encouragement as a friend and as a woman.

Any-who-how, after hearing this young man speak about self-love, it occurred to me that my friend is not alone.  Therefore, I’m sharing this video with my readers because I find it so inspirational; and very befitting for “Inspirational Friday’s.”  Enjoy!

Unleashing Your Potential

An endless stream of messages, tasks and events will try to lure us from what God has called us to do.

As unique as God’s children are, so will the unique experiences that will aim to distract us from the business at hand.

Only if we have set our priorities and realize the significance of what we are doing for God’s greater glory, can we keep on keeping on.

We can then stay on course.
