Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
Let’s pray!
PRAYER
Father, God, life is like the seasons. It’s ever changing with the only constant being you. Please walk closely with me today and everyday. Speak your peace to my wondering soul. Assuring it and me that nothing is to big for you to handle. Amen
9 They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “May the king live forever! 10 Your Majesty has issued a decree that everyone who hears the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music must fall down and worship the image of gold, 11 and that whoever does not fall down and worship will be thrown into a blazing furnace. 12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up.”
13 Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king, 14 and Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? 15 Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

I selected to share the above verses because they show how far people will go when they are filled with unclean spirits such as jealousy, envy and greed. Let’s pray!
PRAYER
Father, thank you for this new day that has new opportunities. Fill me with your love as you protect me from the evils of my enemies. Amen
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 ESV
Let us begin this Friday morning in prayer! Father, Thank You for grace and mercy. When we focus on those two things we will be able to see Your hand of compassion throughout our day. In the name of Jesus. Amen
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2 KJV
Ancestral prayers can last for generations. My grandmother was the prayer warrior for her family. She was a petite Black woman from Louisiana that prayed day and night. Her prayers seemed more amplified during cold months. You could hear her praying from that cold kitchen as the wood stove in the livingroom began to burn the newly made fire. She would sing songs that asked God for protection. As a recipient of one of her butt whooping, I believe sometimes those prayers even kept her from killing disobedient children. She always had a house full of kids even after most of her kids were grown and gone. She raised a few grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her children had the opportunity to have uncles and aunts as playmates. Sadly, she only lived a few years of her life without children in tow; yet, her prayers continue to impact those she loved. Today I’m going to pray one of her favorite songs.
PRAYER:
I need Thee, O I need Thee Every hour I need Thee O bless me now, my Savior I come to Thee
Pass me not O my gentle Savior for I come to Thee.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.
Mark 10:25 NIV
The other day I asked my American friends how they would pray for people living in another country. I’ve selected to omit the name of the country. Well, anywho! No one answered. I guess their reply wouldn’t have gotten them noticed or favorable “likes” by a large audience. Was I disappointed? Yes. Why? Because my friends are always in church and or participating in Bible studies. So as I sat perplexed concerning praying for others God gave me something to pray about. He showed me that in parts of the world unknown to me, people don’t have clean drinking water. I can’t imagine such because the water from my tap is among the best in the world. It comes from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It’s hard! But! It is crisp clean and refreshing! And, as I see things now, clean water can be taken for granted. Let’s pray!

Good day, Lord! Thank you for putting a need on my heart and the hearts of others to pray for clean water. It shows us that people can and do take clean water for granted. And having access to it make some people feel entitled. Forgive us of our sins. Help those of us that have the ability to think outside of the box and or access to resources continue to move forwards in providing clean water to parts of the world where drinking water isn’t possible. Help us make the impossible possible, Lord. Amen
Let us begin this Friday morning in prayer! Father, When our gaze is upon You what a blessing that look can be. Our places of hurt can be soothed, places of weakness can be strengthened, and places of sickness can be healed. We gaze expectedly upon Jesus crucified and raised to set us free. Help us keep our eyes on you. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
Once again, I’m struggling to write a prayer. I’ve prayed but not in public and it was a communal prayer. Asking God to help several people that have fallen ill as they are very instrumental in helping me settle my mom’s estate. I tell you! This has been one of the most challenging task God has every given me. Really. And! Each day I’m finding just how much humankind can be selfish, selfless, understanding, lack understanding, greedy or generous. And! Oh! Don’t let me forget crafty or gullible! As my experience intensify the word of God rings truth to my current situations that there is nothing new under the Sun. I find peace in knowing trouble don’t last always. So this morning as I struggle with finding words I’m sharing a prayer of Consuello Hodges. Let’s pray!
Let us begin this Wednesday morning in prayer! Father, We’re missing the point in our times of distress…We must seek You on the authority of Your Word. We must attempt to find You and stand on Your Word that graces us through Christ Jesus. Let us diligently search like never before today. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
While I studied for my Masters In Divinity I learned a very helpful tool. How to apply knowledge centuries old to a current situation. It seems in Deuteronomy Israel had gotten scared again. Once before they became full of fear and refused to fight for the land God said belonged to them. As a result, they spent years wandering in the wilderness. OMG! That sounds familiar! Well anywho, the land that was promised to them was occupied by mean and horrible people. And adding to Israel’s fear was the large army. I’ve had to face a few giants and found myself shaking in me boots! But! God, being God, gave Israel and Joshua another chance to claim what He freely gave them. So to ensure they didn’t run scared again God gave them a pep talk. He assured them several times He would be with them. A practice He continues today. Let’s Pray!
PRAYER
Lord, forgive me. I’m only human. As I read the above scripture I thought about all my missed opportunities because of fear. Then I thought about the opportunities that returned. My life is richly blessed because I entered into the land you reserved for me and my family. I thank you for those blessings each and everyday. I pray you continue to be with me and never forsake me. Always giving me your courage to secure and keep the blessings you said were mine. Asking you to continually do the same for my children, their children and our descendants. Amen
Today is a great day for an excellent day! Honestly! Everyday is a great day for an excellent day! And don’t let anyone tell you differently through words and or actions. Always celebrate life, your life. Your value is more precious than silver or gold and it should never be devalued.
I apologize for the quick prayer yesterday. I was trying to gather information for a friend concerning bed bugs, answer emails and organize workers. My plate was full and running over! But! I’m focused today. And! I’m ready to give God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit high praise! Let’s Pray!
PRAYER:
Lord thank you for asking the Heavenly Father to give us protection from the prince of this world. Your request makes me fall deeper in love with you. It showed and shows you thought about me, little ole’ me, long before I became a twinkle in my parents eyes. You knew the moment I took my first breath I would be a target and the gift of life could be unbearable at times. It’s because of your prayer and your never ending love I find peace in the midst of life’s storms. Thank you for everything. Amen
3 But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?”

Sometimes it’s hard to see God’s plans amidst a cloudy life. In Jeremiah 29:11 the author writes, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” To be prosperous we must ask God for help and seek His face when life becomes cluttered and cloudy. The Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are the only spiritual beings capable of carrying life’s burdens and clearing life’s clutter. Let’s pray!
PRAYER:
Lord, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight. Father God, I thirst for your peace. My life is cluttered. There’s too much noise pollution from burdens I’ve collected. As you can see the noise keeps me from hearing you. And, sadly, it keeps me from seeing your plans for me. To my dismay my troubles are holding me back from having hope and a future. Please help me clear my life’s clutter. Amen
