Real Pain, Real Victory: Why Christ is Enough for Our Healing

Hello from Colorado, where the peaks are tall, and my perspective is finally resting on the horizon of Eternity! Today is Friday, June 12, 2026, and my faith is securely anchored in Christ Jesus! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for walking with me through this deep, eye-opening week.

As we close out this second week of looking at the Hebrew Israelite movement, I want to speak directly to the heart of the matter. We spent the last few days talking about some heavy things: systemic racism, historical pain, the trauma of slavery, and the human temptation to build exclusive spiritual walls just to feel safe and superior.

Let’s make one thing absolutely clear: the pain our people have experienced throughout history is real. The generational scars are real. It is completely natural to look at that history and look for a way to heal.

But a false identity can never heal a real wound.

To take our historical suffering and package it as a “divine curse” from a selective reading of Deuteronomy 28 doesn’t fix the pain—it just locks us into a prison of anger and pride. We don’t need a myth to make us royal. We don’t need to rewrite ancient maps to prove we matter to the Creator of the universe.

Our victory wasn’t lost on a slave ship, and it doesn’t need to be recovered on a street corner. Our victory was permanently won 2,000 years ago when Jesus looked at a broken, hurting world, stretched out His arms, and said, “It is finished.” We are healed, we are loved, and we are whole exactly as we are in Him. Period.

The Takeaway for Us

  • Real Pain, Real Grace: One recognizes that acknowledging historical trauma is important, but trading factual history for a religious myth only creates a counterfeit sense of healing.
  • The Trap of the Victim Mindset: One sees that turning historical injustice into a cosmic curse keeps people bound to their past, whereas the Gospel immediately propels us into a future of absolute freedom.
  • The Ultimate Completeness: A believer learns that nothing else needs to be added to their identity. If you have Christ, you already have the highest lineage, the greatest inheritance, and the ultimate crown.

Community Challenge

This weekend, I challenge you to take any lingering bitterness, historical frustration, or feelings of powerlessness and lay them down completely at the feet of Jesus. Look in the mirror and declare: “My value is not defined by my past, my race, or an ancient earthly tribe. My value is defined by the blood of Christ.” How does your heart soften when you realize you are already fully validated by God?

Scripture & Prayer

  • Scripture: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”Isaiah 53:5 (KJV)
  • Prayer: Father, we thank You that You are the ultimate Healer. We bring You the deep, historic wounds of our communities and we ask that You wash them with Your truth. Deliver us from the temptation to look for healing in false doctrines, exclusive hierarchies, or manufactured heritages. Let us rest this weekend in the absolute completeness of what Your Son did on the Cross. Amen.

The Spiritual Seal

Remember: You don’t need a secret history to heal a real heartbreak. You don’t need to prove you are a biological Israelite when you are already a spiritual child of the Living God. You are enough because He is enough.

See you Monday!

I’m Annette

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

This is a space for the ‘unspoken’ stories. As a Black woman who has journeyed through childhood trauma and family alienation to find healing in God’s grace, I know what it’s like to feel lost in the shadows.

But I also know the light on the other side. Today, my life is a testimony of prayer, the joy of a second chance in marriage, and the strength of a heart reclaimed by faith. Whether you are healing from the past, navigating a diverse family, or deepening your walk with God—you are not alone. Let’s walk this path together.
