Hello from Colorado, where the peaks are tall, and my perspective is expanding into new territory! Today is Monday, June 15, 2026, and my faith is firmly secured in Christ Jesus! Thank you for joining me as we open up our third week of looking beneath the surface of this identity crisis.
Have you ever noticed how much human beings love an underdog story? We love movies where the oppressed rise up, defeat the oppressor, and finally take the crown. There is a deep, biological craving within us for fairness. But when that craving is warped by pain and powerlessness, it can turn into something dangerous: a revenge fantasy masquerading as theology.
This is exactly what happens in the deeper, more aggressive pockets of the Hebrew Israelite movement. They teach that when the end times come, the global racial hierarchy will completely flip. They tell their followers that those who are at the bottom today will physically rule over, enslave, and punish their modern-day oppressors tomorrow.
When you listen to the high-pressure shouting on the street corners, you realize it isn’t actually about love for God. It’s about a thirst for payback.
It is an incredibly intoxicating idea for someone who feels crushed by systemic racism or modern poverty to believe that one day they will hold the whip. It acts as an emotional shield against daily marginalization. But as believers, we have to ask ourselves: Is our ultimate hope to see our enemies broken, or is our hope to see the world redeemed? Jesus didn’t call us to dream of taking over the worldly thrones of oppression; He called us to follow the King who conquered death through a cross.
The Takeaway for Us
- The Seduction of Payback: One recognizes that fringe ideologies often weaponize the natural human desire for justice, turning it into a carnal lust for revenge and dominance.
- The Mirror of the Oppressor: One sees that dreaming of a flipped hierarchy where you become the master doesn’t break the cycle of oppression—it just changes who is wearing the crown.
- The Higher Standard: A believer learns that the Kingdom of God is not an upside-down version of modern worldly systems. It is a completely new reality built on righteousness, peace, and restorative grace.
Community Challenge
When you think about the injustices of this world, does your heart long for revenge or does it long for redemption? This week, I challenge you to examine your prayers. Are we asking God to break our enemies so we can feel powerful, or are we asking Him to change hearts—starting with our own? How does your peace change when you hand the courtroom over to God and step off the judge’s seat?
Scripture & Prayer
- Scripture: “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” — Romans 12:19 (KJV)
- Prayer: Father, we confess that sometimes our flesh wants payback. When we see cruelty and injustice, it is easy to wish for a day where we can look down on those who looked down on us. Cleanse our hearts from the poison of revenge. Help us to trust Your perfect justice, and grant us the grace to desire the salvation of our enemies rather than their destruction. Amen.
The Spiritual Seal
Remember: God doesn’t give you a crown so you can stomp on someone else. Your victory in Christ doesn’t require a victim. You are royalty because He loves you, not because He hates someone else.
See you tomorrow (Tuesday)!
