Hello from Colorado, where the peaks are tall, and my perspective is finally resting on the horizon of Eternity! Today is Friday, June 19, 2026, and my faith is securely anchored in Christ Jesus! Happy Juneteenth to everyone stopping by the blog today as we close out our third powerful week together!
It is incredibly profound that our look at the “Reversal of Fortune” narrative falls on this specific holiday. Today, we celebrate the day the historic news of physical emancipation finally reached the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas. It’s a day of deep reflection, joy, and honoring the resilience of those who came before us.
But it also shines a bright light on why some of our people fall into the trap of the Hebrew Israelite doctrine. When you look at the long, grueling history from 1865 to today, it is easy to see why hearts get heavy. The lingering presence of systemic injustice makes people crave a massive, dramatic cosmic payback. They cling to the idea of a future where roles are reversed, and they get to hold the keys to captivity.
But on this Juneteenth, I want to scream this from the mountaintops: We don’t need a future earthly throne to validate our freedom today!
True emancipation doesn’t mean waiting for a day where we get to look down on our earthly oppressors. True emancipation means realizing that the King of Kings has already looked down on us, broken our chains, and called us His own. Our value isn’t waiting on a political flip or a biological pedigree. Jesus paid the ultimate price to set our spirits completely free 2,000 years ago. We are not defined by the chains of our ancestors or the anger of the street corners; we are defined by the empty tomb. We are free, we are royal, and we are whole right now.
The Takeaway for Us
- The True Emancipation: One recognizes that while physical freedom is a historical milestone to celebrate, true spiritual freedom is a permanent reality that no human system can ever take away.
- Breaking the Cycle: One sees that dreaming of a world where you become the oppressor doesn’t honor the legacy of freedom—it just resurrects the spirit of bondage under a different name.
- Living as Royalty Now: A believer learns that they do not need to wait for a future dispensation to walk in dignity. Through Christ, you are already an heir to the ultimate Kingdom today.
Community Challenge
As we celebrate Juneteenth this weekend, I challenge you to look at the areas in your heart where you might still be carrying the heavy chains of bitterness or a desire for carnal payback. Take those burdens to the Lord. How does your celebration of freedom change when you realize you don’t need revenge to be entirely victorious in Jesus?
Scripture & Prayer
- Scripture: “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36 (KJV)
- Prayer: Father, we thank You for the historical reminder of liberty we celebrate today on Juneteenth. But above all, we thank You for the eternal liberty we have in Your Son. Deliver our hearts from the toxic desire for carnal revenge or racial dominance. Let us walk in the absolute, breathtaking freedom of the Cross, living as true sons and daughters of the Living God. Amen.
The Spiritual Seal
Remember: Your liberty wasn’t signed into law by a human politician, and it can’t be revoked by a worldly system. You are free indeed because the Son has made you free. Walk in your royalty today!
See you Monday!
