Illustrated city with people following glowing paths toward a ballot box

Hey y’all! Moving right down the ballot to the upcoming ballot measures, and this topic didn’t require me to do a double-take at all.

When looking at proposed election laws, I immediately think about basic security, privacy risks, and protecting a person’s identity. Leaving sensitive, private data exposed is just begging for trouble. We already live in a world where identity theft is a constant headache. Why on earth would we write rules that make it easier for thieves to get their hands on our info?

The Dinner Table Debate: Should Mail-In Ballots Even Exist?
Of course, this sparked a whole major debate with my husband! He actually feels that mail-in ballots should be made completely illegal across the board. But I had to check him on that! I reminded him that he is totally forgetting about the people who can’t physically make it to the polls.

Think about our neighbors with severe medical conditions, homebound seniors, or people working brutal shifts and positions that don’t allow them to break away on Election Day. Mail-in voting gives those people a voice. So instead of getting rid of it, we need to keep it accessible and secure.

For me, protecting our community means protecting our personal security and our neighbors’ right to vote.

Do your homework, look past the slogans, and protect your privacy!

This is a space for the ‘unspoken’ stories. As a Black woman who has journeyed through childhood trauma and family alienation to find healing in God’s grace, I know what it’s like to feel lost in the shadows.

But I also know the light on the other side. Today, my life is a testimony of prayer, the joy of a second chance in marriage, and the strength of a heart reclaimed by faith. Whether you are healing from the past, navigating a diverse family, or deepening your walk with God—you are not alone. Let’s walk this path together.
