Good morning from Colorado!

There are some experiences in life that we simply cannot explain. As a Christian, I don’t usually talk about ghosts or the spirit world because it isn’t something I am comfortable discussing. But there is one experience I have never forgotten.

One day, I was talking with a friend about the father of my younger children. During our conversation, I said something about him being evil. Almost immediately, my bed began to shake and bounce.

I didn’t stop to figure out what was happening. I didn’t have time to reason it out or decide what to do. In an instant, I called on Jesus for help.

The bed hit the floor and stopped completely.

I can’t tell you exactly what caused the bed to move that day. I can only tell you what I experienced and what happened when I called on Jesus.

That moment taught me something about faith that I have never forgotten. Sometimes fear doesn’t give us time to prepare a response. It simply comes, and whatever we have been holding onto inside of us comes out.

For me, it was Jesus.

Peter experienced something similar when he stepped out of the boat. When he became afraid and began to sink, he didn’t try to explain the storm. He didn’t pretend he wasn’t in trouble. He cried out, “Lord, save me!”

And Jesus reached for him.

Maybe that’s what faith looks like sometimes. It isn’t having an explanation for everything we experience. It isn’t pretending we’re not afraid. Sometimes faith is simply knowing who to call when fear takes over.

So today, I want to ask you a simple question:

When you’re afraid, who do you call?

I’ll see you tomorrow for another 15 Minutes with God.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

This is a space for the ‘unspoken’ stories. As a Black woman who has journeyed through childhood trauma and family alienation to find healing in God’s grace, I know what it’s like to feel lost in the shadows.

But I also know the light on the other side. Today, my life is a testimony of prayer, the joy of a second chance in marriage, and the strength of a heart reclaimed by faith. Whether you are healing from the past, navigating a diverse family, or deepening your walk with God—you are not alone. Let’s walk this path together.
