The Beautiful Process: Clearing Paths for the Next Generation

Good morning from Colorado, where the peaks are tall and the tomb is empty! Today is Monday, and my faith is secured in Christ Jesus! Thanks for stopping by my blog, where we discuss life, faith, and the long walk toward healing.

Breaking a generational cycle is like trying to lose weight; you aren’t always sure what is going to work until you finally see the success of your labor. It is a slow, intentional effort that requires you to look at the “blurry” parts of your past and decide they will no longer define your future. Breaking a cycle is hard work, but it is the most beautiful process in your life’s journey.

My own healing truly began when I started to write. Through the process of putting words to the “fuzziness” of my childhood, I’ve been able to expand on feelings I once couldn’t even put a face to. This knowledge has given me the power to change things, not just for me, but for the little ones who follow me.

Every time I help my cousin with her toddler—clearing a path so those tiny feet can walk safely—I am healing the eleven-year-old version of me who had to navigate the “broken stairs” alone. I am realizing that while my mother’s 16-hour sacrifice left me with many burdens, God has given me the “skilled babysitter” of truth and technology to help me write a new story. You aren’t a victim of what was done to you; you are the empowered author of what happens next.

The Takeaway for Us

  • The Power of Naming: One realizes that healing begins the moment feelings are given a name. Putting a “face” to the pain through writing is the first step in stripping that pain of its power.
  • The Beautiful Process: Breaking cycles is not a one-time event but a continuous journey. Like any great success, it is built on daily progress and the courage to stay the course even when the path is not yet clear.
  • Knowledge as a Key: Information is the “BINGO” moment of the soul. Once a person understands why things were the way they were, they gain the divine authority to ensure they never stay that way again.

Have you found that “putting a face” to your feelings has given you the power to change your life? What is one cycle you are currently in the “beautiful process” of breaking for your family?

Scripture & Prayer

  • Scripture: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32 (KJV)
  • Prayer: Father, we thank You for the beauty of the healing process. We ask for strength for the cycle-breakers who are doing the hard work of clearing paths for the next generation. Thank You for the knowledge that gives us power to change and for the grace to see our journey as a masterpiece. Amen.

The Spiritual Seal

Remember: You are not defined by the years the locusts have eaten, but by the new thing God is doing in your life today. The tomb is empty, and your story is rising. See you Tuesday!

I’m Annette

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

This is a space for the ‘unspoken’ stories. As a Black woman who has journeyed through childhood trauma and family alienation to find healing in God’s grace, I know what it’s like to feel lost in the shadows.

But I also know the light on the other side. Today, my life is a testimony of prayer, the joy of a second chance in marriage, and the strength of a heart reclaimed by faith. Whether you are healing from the past, navigating a diverse family, or deepening your walk with God—you are not alone. Let’s walk this path together.
