Good day from Colorado, where we have blue skies nearly 365 days of the year! Thanks for stopping by my blog, where we discuss life, faith, and sometimes our walk with Christ.
We are closing out this month with a “ten-ton brick” that needs to settle deep in your spirit: God doesn’t consult your critics before He gives you a dream.
Too many of us who follow Christ have a habit of shrinking. We see the sideline critics squinting at our light, and instead of letting it shine, we try to turn down the wick. We don’t want to “outshine” anyone. We don’t want the Jealous Spirit in our family or friend group to feel “uncomfortable in their own skin,” so we make ourselves small.
But here is the truth: Your light isn’t yours to dim. When the Messiah met the woman at the well, He didn’t check with the town council to see if she was “qualified” for Living Water. He didn’t ask the disciples if they were “okay” with Him talking to her. He gave her a dream and a destiny without a single person’s permission.
If you are shrinking today because people think you have “too many irons in the fire,” you are essentially telling God that His choice was a mistake. Stop waiting for a “thank you” or an “amen” from the sidelines before you run with your vision. Your dream is a divine appointment, not a committee meeting.
The Takeaway for Us
- The Sovereign Choice: God chose you for a reason. If He wanted the critic to have the dream, He would have given it to them.
- Shine Unapologetically: Your light doesn’t “make” people small; it simply exposes who is willing to step into the light with you.
- The Silence of Approval: You don’t need a “green light” from the world when you already have a “Great Commission” from the Word.
Community Challenge
Have you ever caught yourself “dimming your light” to keep the peace with someone who is jealous of your progress? How would your life change today if you finally realized you never needed their permission to be Great?
Scripture & Prayer
- Scripture: “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” — Galatians 1:10 (ESV)
- Prayer: Father, I repent for shrinking. I thank You that You didn’t ask for my critics’ opinion before You poured Your Spirit into me. Give me the boldness to shine as bright as You’ve called me to, without apology. I am Your servant, and I seek only Your “Well done.” Amen.
Spiritual Seal
Remember: Your nets are full because your God is faithful. Don’t let the sideline critics talk you out of your harvest. See you tomorrow!
