There is a specific kind of pressure that comes when you refuse to let go of your many irons. When people stay in the fire of their calling, the heat doesn’t just refine the work; it often agitates the observer. If a critic—operating out of that Jealous Spirit—cannot stop the work, they will instead try to break the worker. They will use condescension like a hammer, attempting to dent your confidence until you believe you are less than the purpose God gave you.
Maintaining your worth under this kind of fire requires a “full knowledge” of who you are. The critic wants to convince themselves that people who do much are “dumb” or “scattered” because it makes their own lack of effort feel like “wisdom.” But your intelligence is not measured by a critic’s understanding. If God gave the command to cast the nets, He already provided the capacity to pull them in.
The Takeaway
- The Intelligence of Obedience: Being “smart” in the Kingdom isn’t about looking busy; it’s about being obedient. If God said “cast,” then casting is the smartest thing you can do.
- Reject the “Dumb” Label: When people call you “dumb” for having many irons, they are really saying they couldn’t handle your workload. Don’t mistake their limitation for your lack.
Community Challenge
Have you ever let someone’s “talk-down” energy make you doubt your own ability to handle what God gave you? How do you remind yourself of your worth when the loudest voices are trying to diminish it?
Scripture & Prayer
- Scripture: “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” — Psalm 139:14
- Prayer: Father, I thank You that my worth is hidden in Christ, not in the opinions of the shoreline. I reject every label of “dumb” or “scattered” sent to confuse my purpose. Give me the grace to walk in full knowledge of who I am in You. Let my confidence stay in the fire until the work is complete. Amen.
