“I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” — John 10:10 (AMPC)

Greetings from the beautiful state of Colorado!

Continuing from Tuesday’s theme, let’s talk about filling your own cup first. This is a lesson I’m learning much later in life than I’d like, but it’s a vital one. Often, we think constant self-sacrifice is the ultimate kindness, but it can unintentionally rob others of the chance to live their own fulfilled lives. I’ve watched loved ones—fully committed to their faith and church—pass away feeling unfulfilled.

Attending church is a blessing, but we must remember that God richly provides all things for our enjoyment. Ignoring His blessings to enjoy the life He created is a missed opportunity to honor Him.

If you are working with a limited income but want to build a “fulfillment fund” for travel or rest, here are a few flexible side jobs to consider:

Service-Based Gigs

Monetize skills you already have for immediate income potential.

  • Virtual Assistant (VA): Help entrepreneurs manage emails, scheduling, and social media. You can find clients on platforms like Upwork or Fiverr.
  • Freelance Writing or Proofreading: If you have a knack for words, offer services for blog posts or editing on sites like PeoplePerHour.
  • Online Tutoring: Share your expertise in academics or music through Tutor.com or Wyzant.
  • Bookkeeping: If you’re organized, help small businesses manage their finances remotely for a reliable income stream.

Selling Products Online

Create something once and let it sell multiple times.

  • Digital Products: Design planners, checklists, or art to sell on Etsy. Once created, these can provide passive income.
  • E-commerce/Reselling: Clear out your closet by selling gently used clothes on Poshmark or thredUP.

Consistency is the key to success. Choose a path that aligns with your passions, and you’ll be well on your way to that next adventure!

A Word of Grace

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life and the beauty of Your creation. Help me to find a healthy balance between serving others and receiving Your blessings. Teach me to enjoy the life You’ve given me and to trust Your provision as I work toward rest and fulfillment. Amen.
