The Prayer’s of Black Women: Peace For the Tormented Soul

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them:  for this is the law and the prophets.  Matthew 7:12

Dear Lord:

All week-long I have done nothing but complain about family members.  Sadly in spiritual arrogance I wrote in my journal what this person or that person was doing wrong.  Lord, I pray that you continue to show mercy on my misguided soul.  For in my arrogance I wanted you to severely punish the family I thought did not deserve your grace.  And, Lord, it saddens me to confess:  I never stopped to think beyond my shallow needs of feeling vindicated.  Surly, Lord, a person’s soul salvation is worth more than a temporary feel good statement.

Honestly, Lord, I would be mortified if I read or heard someone asking you to punish me.

So, Lord, please forgive me of my sins.  Help me to walk and speak in the ways of a righteous child of God.  Teach me in my moments of spiritual enlightenment to show your love, kindness, forgiveness and courage to those during weak moments.  Look upon these people and blessed them with new eyes to see their errors as you have done for me.  Give their tormented souls peace so they will do the right things.

Annette

The Prayers of Black Women: Lord Help Me Make It Safely to Shore

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.  –Corrie Ten Boom

Lord, I am worried.  And I am [sigh] not alone.  I need for you to minister to my lowly spirit and those that feel the same as I do.  Lord, we need to hear from you.  Make your Holy presence known in giving us signs that everything is going to be alright.  Lord, I’m not sure of the challenges my brothers and sisters in Christ are facing this morning but my challenges for today are:  I have no money to meet the demands of my responsibilities and financial obligations.  And adding to my list of worries last night the stove decided to join the refrigerator and go on the blink.  And my efforts to secure financial stability and generational legacy seem fruitless.  The feeling of defeat is hovering over my head as a continual reminder I am failing as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, and entrepreneur.

Please, Lord, keep the defeatist attitude away.  Please help me and those that feel like me stay positive in the midst of life’s storms.   Become our lighthouse and guide us safely to harbor oh Lord.  Amen

Annette

The Prayer’s of Black Women: Overcoming Infidelity

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate. ~Matthew 19:6

Whisper your heavenly love to the wounded soul oh Lord.  Heal broken hearts with your divine touch.

For again someone feels they have fallen short of your glory by not guarding their heart.  Lord replace their sorrow with joy.  Because in all sincerity they thought they were doing what you expected of them as spouses; and as a result of truly trusting their loved ones their hearts were broken by infidelity.

Their spouses silence, without complaint, lead them to believe all was well with the their lives as a couple and as a family.  But as infidelity deeds are and were being uncovered the illusion of perfect relationships and family units are being destroyed.

Lord, please help the victims of infidelity in this delicate moment; as you spiritually work on their companions moral values by cutting away relationship deceptions and replacing spiritual corruption with Fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Strengthen these victims Lord with your words, presence and unconditional love.  Give them the ability to forgive quickly.  As you sustain their marriage with the bonds of holy commitment.  So that both will continue nurturing a lasting matrimony.  Lord quiet inner turmoil of shame, anger, deception, hopelessness, selfishness, disappointment, lack of trust, and the feelings of loss by replacing each emotion with love and understanding.  Amen

The Prayers of Black Women: I Just Want To Thank You Lord

Lord thank you for all you’ve done for me!  Yes!  You have kept me and your mercies have been new every morning.

Lord, this morning I’m praying for those that are lonely in spirit, for those that are losing hope, for those that have lost hope, for those that are hungry not only for natural food but spiritual food as well.  I’m praying for those that have been evicted, for those that have lost their homes to foreclosure or short-sale.  I’m praying for those that have lost their jobs or means of financial support.  I’m praying for those that have lost their transportation.  Lord, I’m praying for those that have been victimized by the greed of other’s.  I’m praying for young men and women that feel they are not loved.  I’m praying Lord that you will show the young [and old] your unconditional love.  I’m praying for those that are alcoholics this morning.  I’m praying for the families that have drugged addicted grand-parents, parents, children, and family members.  I’m praying for those that are hooked on drugs.  I’m praying for parents that have lost their children to death.  I’m praying for the grieving husbands and wives that have also lost their spouses to death.  I’m praying for those that are grieving the loss of someone.  I’m praying for those that have been newly divorced and feel void of emotions and can’t see their way clear.  Lord, I’m praying for the seen and unseen needs of those you deeply love.  Lord, I’m asking that you bring comfort to your people.

I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten– the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm — my great army that I sent among you.  ~Joel 2.25

The Prayer’s of Black Women: Staying On Your Path

Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy. ~Deuteronomy 5:33

Speak to my heart Lord.  Your words have commanded me to follow a path you have divinely paved only for me.  Help me Lord to stay on my path when the storms of life are raging, when I can’t see my way clear from the dust and I must walk alone.  Give me your strength to journey on by giving me faith to believe in you; and hope by knowing I will live long and have a prosperous life in the land I will enter and occupy.  Amen.

Become My Friend God

Become my friend God that I will hope for today and have a promise for tomorrow.
Become my friend God that I will have a shoulder to lean on in my times of sorrow.
Become my friend God that I will have a life supply of happiness to always borrow.

Become my friend God so my days and nights are never lonely.
Become my friend God so I will learn to serve you only.
Become my friend God so I will never be a Christian phony.

Become my friend God so in my daily walk with you I can see life as you do.
Become my friend God so I can learn how to make a healthy pot of spiritual stew.
Become my friend God so I will learn to feed your people like you too!

Become my friend God is all I am asking of you.
