“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.” H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
I’m reading COVID-19 is on the rise in the following states Alaska, Montana, Wisconsin, Idaho, Ohio, Nevada, Delaware, Kansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Hawaii, Texas and Florida.
If you live in these states you gotta be smarter than the average person [if you’re planning on surviving].
COVID is like a bullet. It carries no name and you don’t know where it’s going to come from. Your best defense is preparation.
face mask [Walgreen]
hand sanitizer [grocery stores]
Lysol/Clorox wipes [Costco/Sams]
Lysol/Microband Disinfectant Spray
Vitamins D and C
Right now people are still rebelling against suggestions on staying safe. Other words they don’t know “fat means grease” and this is your time to gather product. Everyday retailers are restocking shelves with so much of this and that. So! Again! Now! Is your time to get two big packages of toilet paper and paper towels. It’s a great time to get 5 cans of soup each time you go to the store, meat products, veggies, soaps, sanitizers and etc. Other words buy what you’ll need! And! Don’t forget to purchase Tylenol and vitamins such as D and C.
Shop for these items often until your cabinets are stocked! But! Don’t use credit cards unless you’re planning to pay the full balance when payment is due. Always use cash when stockpiling.
Shopping like this means you’re not clearing the shelves. You will fly under the radar of limitations and should people panic again you won’t be among them.
Lord, thank you for your grace and your mercy. Father, God, the world is still suffering from COVID-19. And, sadly, most Americans feel they are immune to the virus despite CDC’s warnings and government suggestions.
If we, Americans, don’t join together and set healthier boundaries beyond what officials have suggested it will change the face of America and the world forever. And it grieves me to learn that Black communities are being hit the hardest.
I don’t know why so many Black people won’t follow the rules. Including one of my own children. Or could it be that hospital’s are sending infected black people home, and, as a result, they are infecting others. And! It infuriates me to know my son lied to me to gain shelter. And, I allowed him back into the house after being places only you know of.
Please protect me and Michael from Kaleph’s foolishness. Michael and I are following the rules. We’re staying home. We’re practicing social distance. We’re concern about ourselves as well as others.
Lord, Black people are at the bottom of the list when it comes to receiving quality healthcare and barely on that list as being part of the human race. We deserve services to sustain life and lives. Yet, it always seem we’re last to receive fair treatment despite our stations in a world you created.
Lord, quicken the spirits of my people. Deliver those that suffer from delusional minds. Guide us! We need your help. Reports are showing we’re dying at records numbers. Show us how to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our friends and our family during these perilous times. Let there truly become unity in the black communities. Not because we are better or want more than other races but because we’re dying at record numbers. Amen
Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Proverbs 2:11
Good morning, Lord. Today, I humbly ask that you provide the US with a suitable laboratory. Give the people there the courage needed to create and produce test kits for COVID-19. America and it’s people need them badly! If we had ample supply medical personnel could test people without question. Testing without question would ease the minds of many Americans. We’re all scared Lord. Please protect the county I love and the World. Amen
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Prayer: Good morning, Lord. Today I pray you will pour out your guidance and wisdom within each medical professional community. Show them how to combat COVID-19. Protect each person as they become your legs, arms and body in an effort to heal your people. Amen
Heavenly Father, the world is in a pandemic crises. We have a virus that is killing people in days and or weeks by the hundreds. It’s called COVID-19. It’s new to the world but not to you. You know all and see all. And, you know where this virus was created and what it was created with. Lord, help until you can help. Amen
If we take the generally accepted definition of bravery as a quality which knows no fear, I have never seen a brave man. All men are frightened. The more intelligent they are, the more they are frightened. George S. Patton
A couple of days ago as I was leaving the post office a woman stopped to hold the door for me. Now, under normal circumstances I would be the first to thank someone for their kind gesture. But given our current world situation concerning COVID-19 I said to self “move yo black ass out the way.”
In appearance she was “The Little Engine That Could.” She wasn’t scared of anything. Her life wasn’t going to be interrupted by fear. It was clear from her rude comment concerning me opening doors with a disinfectant wipe she had zero tolerance for others who showed a healthy level of fear.
She was on the phone and as I passed by with my wipe she told the person on the other end I was paranoid. I got to a safe distance and turned around so my voice would project in her direction and said, “sure am.” She could call me what she wanted but in this case I have enough sense to know no one is immune to this ravishing virus.
So! After reading how long Coronavirus stay on surfaces and in the air, as a germophobe I suggest wearing face mask when in public. Always wash your hands for over 20 seconds. And! Never eat without washing your hands for 30 seconds or longer. Put currency and coins in a plastic sandwich bag. Take precautions when opening boxes. Find a safe place [out of reach from children or pets] in your home to let them safely sit for 24 hours or longer and open them outside. Throw the box away immediately. If possible wipe the content with Clorox or Lysol disinfect product. Disinfect your door handles inside and outside and wash your hands with soap and water for more than 20 seconds. Clean your kitchen appliances everyday. Everyday wipe down facets in the bathroom and clean the toilet handle. Don’t drink out of plastic bottles or cups from public settings. Take your beverage with you! Always remember to wash your bottle water and or beverages before placing them in your fridge.
Washing beverages before putting them in my fridge has been a habit of mine for over thirty something years. My husband use to laugh at my over the top behavior. Now! He’s glad that I take extra measures to keep our family safe. And with that said, remember it’s okay to have healthy fear. Only a fool will think they’re immune to a health threat.
