Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:3-5

I dedicate this page to Queen Hay’s. She was my mother’s mom and my grandmother. She was a woman of few words but when she spoke she imparted wisdom to her listeners.
She had 7 girls and three boys. Sadly one of her son’s preceded her in death. However, at the time of her death she had 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great- grandchild she knew all by name.
She had very little monies; but she made sure each of her 9 children, her 27 grandchildren, and her 22 great-grandchildren all got gifts each Christmas. At the time her gifts were appreciated by most family members. But after her death they became a lesson to her descendants about being grateful. Because most times her boxes were filled with undies that were too big or a bar of soap. I guess my grandma was trying to make sure we remembered to change our undies and wash our backsides. Laughter! She was truly a hoot!
She must have been an amazing woman! Blessings, Cate
