Get good at telling your own stories. Some of the world’s best speech makers were storytellers like Mark Twain and Will Rogers. Never get caught giving someone else’s speech. People know immediately, and it’s embarrassing. Talk about the experiences that have impacted your own life–they’ll be more meaningful and interesting to your audience.

You know what! I gotta tell a short story here. I have this family member that must tell everybody’s story including her own. It doesn’t matter what the story is about or if it should stay private or go public. All that matters is that she must tell the news, as she adds and subtracts to every story. Her lack of respect for the privacy of others causes her to cross boundaries, creating wounds that have long lasting emotional scars. And! Lord help if the story is about someone she hates and or dislike her. Yet, the funny thing about this person is that I believe every family, every circle of friends, every aspect of life where people come together has at least one toxic busybody. Let’s pray!

PRAYER

Father God, thank you for another day to make a difference. Lord, today we’re praying about the spirit of destruction that has people captive. We’re asking you to bind it in the name of Jesus! Render it useless and replace it with a spirit of restoration allowing victims to find their voices and heal. Amen

Get a burning passion in your gut. Start letting the world know what you’ve got to say is important! Believe that God put you on this earth for a reason. Your higher purpose is to make a difference by what you have to say.

Father, today we’re revisiting a continued request from yesterday. Again I ask for you to give those that struggle with confidence their voice. Speak peace to their tormented souls so they realize their life is important. Amen

No one has ever succeeded in life by being shy or timid. Right now you may be thinking to yourself, “I will never get the job I want because I am too afraid of selling myself” or “I could never be a leader because I am too afraid to speak in front of groups. I even have a hard time expressing myself in small groups?” Guess what — you’re not alone.”

I’ve shied away from having long prayers for many reasons when sharing them publicly. But today is special because of a conversation I had with a phenomenal person/woman. She and I have been friends for over thirty years.  I thought I knew all there was to know about her.  Then she shared with me that she liked parts of her job but was marginal at the parts that made her uncomfortable. Out of curiosity I asked what made her uncomfortable.  She said, “having  to meet with the customers face to face.”  My jaws dropped!  How could that be!  She being a minister’s wife caught me off guard with her statement of truth. She’s always speaking to people face to face.  So, is it her truth or just someone else’s perception embedded in her character?  

PRAYER

Father, thank you for another day to do things better than the day before. Today I ask that you give people who struggle with speaking up for themselves their voice. Show them how wonderfully made they are. Teaching them that sometimes truth is an illusion that changes with self acceptance and self knowledge.  Amen

PRAYER

Father God, thank you again for another day to live an abundant life. Lord, give strength to those that are oppressed by the feelings of loneliness. Free them to a mindset of living an abundant life. Show them how to meet others that are good and kind. Awaken their spirits to recognize deceitful people and strengthen them to call upon you to avoid snares of manipulative individuals. Amen

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions, small people do that. But the really great make you feel that you, too, can somehow become great.

Father God, thank you for this day.  Guide us as we do day to day business.  Granting us the ability not to fall prey to the self promoting schemes of others.  Amen

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

PRAYER

Lord, I pray for every relationship to flourish within healthy boundaries. And should a person find themselves in a toxic environment, I ask that you uncover the root of the discord and show each individual the roles they play concerning the situation. Amen

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, please comfort the hearts of those that feel like they are in exile, assuring them they aren’t alone because of your presence. Helping them always to flourish wherever home is. Amen

“I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.”

PRAYER

Father God, Paul prayed that you strengthen the Ephesians with power through the Holy Spirit to reach their innermost being, so that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith. I ask the same for the world in which we now know. It’s clear to see we need to hear from you as faith in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit fades.  As a result, hopelessness is on the rise. I pray your spirit quickens souls to believe in the true and living God. We need you, Lord. Amen
