Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in they sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14, KJV
For different reasons people will indirectly/directly involve you in their insanity. And! As long as you’re sitting on the sidelines you can opt to get off the rollercoaster of madness. Hopefully before it’s too late. Because when you start playing their game! With their rules! And! With their agenda you lose everything that makes life a wonderful journey, self-worth. Let’s Pray!
Father God, thank you for another day. Trouble surrounds me. Keep my soul at peace during the storm and my eyes on Christ. Pepper my words with your strength and your love when I speak. Give my heart a song to sing and let my feet dance and rejoice in your goodness. Amen
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14 NIV
It’s very important that we nurture our children, spouses, friends, family and enemies with loving words. Yes! Believe it or not, your enemies deserve kind words, too!
Always remember one very harmless word can be catastrophic to another individual. We should be quick to listen and slow to respond to others. Our words are water and food for the soul. To be honest, words are the essence of life. We can use them to build or destroy oneself. Or say them to others for many reasons. However, it’s when our words are deliberately used to destroy another that becomes unpleasant to God. Let’s Pray!
Father God, thank you for giving me the ability to speak, think and respond. Give me words to say to others today and everyday. Guard my feelings of self-worth when someone tries to hurt me by saying mean and or evil things. Let me see the aggressor dressed down to their naked souls. Only for me to gain insight of their pain and make the encounter an opportunity for them to see you. For after all, I’m your ambassador. Amen
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14 ESV
Sometimes people find their thoughts and words changing when facing difficult moments. It’s during those times words can become mean and nasty. And as a result people find themselves plotting how to protect themselves from evil with evil. Let’s just say that’s not good. I remembered a Gunsmoke episode about an evil town. What led to an old man saying, “evil eats itself up” was the most important message. And! It’s true! Evil always consumes evil. So never allow anyone to goat you into doing something mean and nasty that you’ll regret later. Let’s pray!
Father God, ‘Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.’ Lord please become a visible rock during turbulent times and a redeemer when thoughts and words aren’t savory. Amen
Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’
Wow! As I read this passage I think about my current situation and a memory that has fallen to the back of my mind because of daily living. The memory is one of few I have of my dad.
Naw! My dad didn’t die when I was a child. He died about ten or so years ago. He was so verbally abusive. Poor guy! He had not a clue that as an adult I limited the time I spent with him because his words were poison to my soul. His abuse was done out of love and desire for me to achieve. However, enough said about my dad and his harsh words. Well anywho . . .
One morning my mom asked my dad to go to 7-Eleven and get my brother an ICEE. An ICEE was a flavored frozen beverage that was either blue or red back in my day. My mom wanted to put a tasty drink in the fridge. So, when my brother woke he would find his treat as she’d “promised.” My dad . . . Lord, have mercy! My dad began to spout his cock-eyed wisdom about children learning to deal with disappointments. But! My mom wasn’t having it! She went to the convenience store and purchased the frozen treat herself! Let’s pray!
Father God, thank you again for another day. Thank you for your kept promise to be everlasting water. That whoever shall drink your water will never thirst again. It’s a source for navigating through life. It cuts through rocky situations and pulls us out of muddy environments. It helps all who believe arrive safely to appointed and sometimes unknown destinations. Therefore, thank you for just being the loveable you, the almighty God that keeps His word! Amen
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.
Last Friday I received a call from my sister. She asked if I’d received a text message from an unhappy family member. I said, “No.” She proceeded to give me the dirty details of the text message. I sat listening to what was being said as I was watched television and wishing for strength to reach behind my head for my bag of Cheetos. I don’t know if what I was listening to was entertaining vs the show on television. But! I knew I wanted to smack on my Cheetos! It was then I realized the person that had been selling Wolf Tickets to me and my sister for over a year finally had a sold out show. So, I didn’t bother to get upset at her latest threat because I realized she was a smalltime and small town bully. If we, you and I, allow evil people to gain ground in our life then living is in vain. My life, your life, count, too! Let’s pray.
PRAYER: Father God, I give you the ultimate high five on creating me and others! I humbly ask that you speak your peace to our souls. Keep us from becoming anxious when people attempt to bully us. Help us to protect and keep the peace you speak to our sprits. Amen
Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength- carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.
Corrie ten Boom
During the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus took time to give His followers words of encouragement concerning worry. He told them not to worry about tomorrow for it would take care of itself. He emphasized that each day will have their own problems. And! Boy! He was spot on! As why I love Corrie ten Boom’s quote. She added more wisdom to words that were peppered with inspiration for living a productive life. Let’s pray.
PRAYER: Father God, thank you for your Son, Jesus Christ. My savior and redeemer. I believe had I been the only person that need deliverance He would have died for me only. So, again, thank you for your only begotten Son.
Lord, I speak your peace to hearts and minds that are fearful and worried. Your peace surpasses all peace that humankind create to free souls from worry. Amen
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins
Life isn’t always fair and most days won’t be sunny. Yet, you can learn to appreciate the partial cloudy days, rainy days and violent storms once you learn the art of forgiveness. Forgiveness teaches the soul that despite the gloom that comes with bad days you can move forwards. So, always be quick to forgive and ready to move forwards with giving yourself a peace of mind. Let us pray.
Father God, thank you for this day we’ve never seen before. It’s precious. Let your love guide our thoughts to making this our best day. Amen
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. Luke 6:31
I’ve started a new blog series titled “Reflections of A Personal Representative.” I’m writing to organize my thoughts. The new series isn’t just about settling my mother’s estate but I need to relearn how to live my own life.
I’ve been so engross with living for my mom that I crippled the way I lived. And in doing such I snuffed out the flames of hope for my future and the future of my children. With that said, let us pray.
PRAYER: Father God, thank you for this day and everyday. It’s with great joy we invite you into our lives. We ask that you order our steps. Let your many blessings remind us of your favor. We pray peace and prosperity for family, friends, loved ones and enemies. Amen
I am not going to be licked by tragedy, as life is a challenge, and we must carry on and work for the living as well as mourn for the dead.
Death couldn’t get any closer. The number of days were tallied for my beloved mom. She was 85 years old. I don’t know if my wish was selfish or not but, I her daughter wanted her to live beyond that number. If the Universe could have only given me one more year with her. But! Then I would want her to have another year after that. So, there was no winning with me for the Universe when it came to my mom dying. Because! I didn’t want her to die!
Love is a wonderful thing. And being my mom’s chosen and now court appointed personal representative robbed me of the rights to grieve her loss. Her death entered me into a battle when my thoughts were cloudy with grief.
People, oh the many of them, had planned my demise long before the “ole’ girl died.” And! After she died . . . They were hitting me from every imaginable and unimaginable angle! And should you become a personal representative the same could be awaiting for you! Especially if heirs are delusional to what they feel entitled. Therefore, don’t do crazy today. Do you!
Take a deep awaited sigh. Not a breath but a sigh. Put a photo of your loved one on your working station. Remember you were chosen because the deceased knew you could and would represent them well. Stand tall! And plant your thoughts in knowing everything you need is within you. And should you find yourself coming up short give the issues to your attorney.
